LUCIDITY

Seems we spend
our whole lives
looking
toward the light
better to
avoid
or to
confront.

Go for the better
good better best
no rest
just
looking
for answers
in the forest
in the flames.

Move backwards
in time now
looking
history
repeating
never
again
and again.

What a horrible year
it has been
there’s a deadline
looking
for tomorrow
light wishes
lucid thoughts
from these dark and bitter times.
