The Spherical Fragments series is a brief return to what I call constructed collage. Created in one burst, these seven double-sided paper collaged forms were built through an additive process, each form developing as overlapping edges of scraps and fragments were glued together. The free-hanging finished pieces have both front and verso functioning alternately as related yet independent collaged pieces. Click here for larger images of the entire group of seven seen sequentially.
This group was done expressly for the latest juried exhibition of the Society of Hungarian Painters (Magyar Festők Társasága) entitled Part>Whole / Rész>Egész, which opens on October 16, in the Vértes Agorája Modern Art Gallery of the City Art Center of Tatabánya, not far from Budapest.
