“Connectivity – VIII”

CONNECTIVITY – VIII

Sometimes while walking way
back then

look down see
      sidewalk textures
      crumbling
      cement
      neglect
      filth
ground in deep by
a thousand
insistent heels.

Eye grazes mind
takes its own path
connectivity
paved underfoot
decay to enormity to
      disintegration
      dying public
      good
      ethical
      morass
      resultant large evils
      wars of the moment.

Now again inescapable connectivity
grabs holds
shaking the soul’s shoulders
till its teeth chatter.

Connectivity
zaps
the mind
moans
white wind
ice crunches
snow and fear muffle
the brain hums
a bad song
as the shrill kettle
announces
real-time.
