“These Comings and Goings – VI”

THESE COMINGS AND GOINGS – VI

These comings and goings
loom in the last afternoons
of quickening darkness
portending glimmers
fearsome familiarity
sparks of loss
rise in the final days
of ten long vanishing weeks
spanning seasons
Until now unnoticed.

Nothing unusual here
nothing out of
the ordinary just
the wrench pull tears
of severance
a human heart bleeding
a little or maybe more
than that and then
the face of passing
Time.

With sudden forceful surrender
unsurprising doleful hellos
tearful goodbyes
stuffing suitcases
emptying cupboards
wrapping thin plastic bags
with colorful rubber bands
round coffee honey pasta
to last till the next time
As if.

At the same time scrawling
miniscule marks
impeccable lists
incomprehensively
inconclusively
in bewilderment
in sighs of unknowing
this partings of ways and meanings
may it not be
The Last.
