THE UNLOCKING KEY – II

 

Slowly mounting stairs
it occurs
today
why not focus
on small
floors beneath
stepping feet
painted green wood
passing to linoleum
marbled grey old
porcelain sink
with animated drip.

Looking at things
more carefully
today
why not open up
to small
which other than
engagement with
firewood
dishes
clothes
has been
missing.

How about for
its own sake
today
why not graze
over small
eye to surface
touching
brain to soul
why not
anything can
shape itself into
unlocking key.
