HEAR THESE COMPLAINTS – III

 

Hear these complaints
an old man pontificates sourly
from a pedestal of privilege
growling eloquently
at the know-nothing masses
for their unknowing
for small sins blown up
to easy proportions of enormity.

Yes yes connect those dots
revealing large secrets
spread out on the table
like a well done sleight of hand
there are many good reasons to call people bad
when evil reigns and the world shivers
when approaching ghosts rise and swell
as we sink below the surface
bubbling faintly as one.

Go ahead have your say
offer up those truths
smacking your lips in your small chair
name unnamed names
gesticulating with certainty
point pointedly at each element
torn from the bosom of human life.
