Once again, another series of movable, double-sided pieces – another engagement with spheres. Although the black rectangles were initially intended to function as a bed on which the many circular forms could be placed, assembled and photographed, the involment with paint intensified and they soon developed into free-standing pieces in their own right. The verso sides were worked in bronze. The stained spheres range in sizes; some simple gessoed circles of paper, others constructed again through an additive collage process. Combinations and re-assemblages of the set of rectangular sheets and spherical forms followed naturally, in seemingly endless variation. A selection of the series’ components and variants can be seen here.
