“Another Story – VI”

Scraping clawing
hoisting grabbing pulling
back up out in
dark silent predawn seconds.

Lying on the shelf unnoticed
does anyone see
but me
and the shadows.

Let’s not be grim
just life’s pulse after all
what worked before dies now
sowing purposelessness.

Life is living
what keeps going
the impulse
to understand.

Life phooey get on
with it but
Mother Earth
is another story.
